Jonathan French

Jonathan French is an American author of grimdark fantasy. His novel The Grey Bastards won the 2016 Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off, a prominent contest that has helped launch the careers of several independent fantasy authors. The novel was later picked up for traditional publication and continued through sequels The True Bastards and The Free Bastards, together forming The Lot Lands series. Before finding wider recognition with the trilogy, French wrote The Exiled Heir and its sequel The Errantry of Bantam Flyn, part of the Autumn's Fall Saga, an earlier fantasy sequence that predates his award-winning breakout.
