Jonathan Janz

Jonathan Janz is the pen name of American horror author Craig Shaeffer, born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1973. He teaches high school English, film literature, and creative writing in West Lafayette, Indiana, and published his debut novel, The Sorrows, in 2011. His other work includes House of Skin, Children of the Dark, named a Booklist Top Ten Horror Book of the Year, The Dark Game, named Library Journal's Best Horror of 2019, and The Raven series. Janz has published widely with Samhain, Flame Tree, Sinister Grin, and Cemetery Dance, and won the Wilburn-Thomas Award at the Scares That Care convention in 2023.
