Joseph D'Lacey

Joseph D'Lacey is a British author of horror, fantasy, and science fiction whose work frequently carries environmental themes, born in London in 1975. His first published novel, MEAT, a satire of factory farming released in 2008, won him the British Fantasy Award for Best Newcomer. He is also known for The Black Dawn duology, comprising Black Feathers and The Book of the Crowman, a post-collapse fantasy that follows a hunt for a folkloric saviour figure through a Britain stripped of modern comforts. Other novels include Garbage Man, Blood Fugue, and Splinters. D'Lacey's fiction is noted for grounding horror and speculative premises in rural English settings and ordinary working lives. He lives in Northamptonshire with his wife and daughter.
