Joshua Tree is the pen name of Benjamin Krämer (born 1986 in Hameln, Germany), a German author of science fiction, thrillers, and fantasy who now lives in New Zealand. After studying communications psychology and working as a journalist, he began self-publishing fiction under the Joshua Tree name in 2017, first with limited success until the eight-part series Behemoth 2333 became a breakout hit. He has since built an extensive catalog of military and space-opera series, including Das Letzte Schlachtschiff/The Last Battleship and Die Letzte Flotte/The Last Fleet, publishing both independently and with imprints such as Fischer-Tor; his novel Singularity won the Seraph Award for Best Novel in 2022. His English translations appear under the name Joshua T. Calvert.
