JT Lawrence

JT Lawrence is a USA Today bestselling author who spent forty-four years in Johannesburg, South Africa, before relocating to the Scottish coast. She writes urban fantasy and speculative fiction with strong female leads, and has published more than three dozen books. She is best known for Blood Magic, following wizard detective Jax Knight and his familiar, an albino ferret, through Johannesburg's supernatural underworld, and for its shared-world sequel series Cursebreaker, centered on the amnesiac cursebreaker Asha Rook; she also writes the near-future thriller series When Tomorrow Calls. Her fantasy has drawn comparisons to Jim Butcher's Dresden Files and Patricia Briggs, and she is known among readers for never abandoning a series mid-run.
