Julia Vee, born in Macau, is an American author of urban fantasy who frequently collaborates with co-author Ken Bebelle. She is best known for the Phoenix Hoard series, beginning with Ebony Gate, which follows a woman drawn back into her family's world of Chinese mythological magic in San Francisco, continuing through Blood Jade and Pearl City. She and Bebelle also write the Seattle Slayers series, including Bricks and Murder and Stakes and Bones, and the earlier Cold War series, a run of military science-fiction novels including Alien Exile, Alien Storm, and Alien Incursion. Vee's fiction blends East Asian mythology and family legacy with contemporary urban-fantasy plotting.
