Julie Cochrane

Julie Cochrane is an American author from Ohio best known for co-writing military science fiction with John Ringo. She began publishing genre fiction with Cally's War (2004), the first of a trilogy following Cally O'Neal, a tough special-operative within Ringo's larger Posleen War / Legacy of the Aldenata universe, in which humanity fights alien invaders alongside allied species. The trilogy continued with Sister Time (2007) and Honor of the Clan (2008), both co-authored with Ringo, following Cally's uneasy return to a semblance of civilian and family life between deployments. The Cally O'Neal books are noted within the wider Posleen sequence for their noir, character-driven tone, focusing on the psychological cost of prolonged warfare rather than large-scale battle. Cochrane has not published further book-length fiction beyond this collaborative trilogy, which remains her sole contribution to the franchise.
