Justin Somper

Justin Somper is a British author born in St Albans, Hertfordshire, who graduated from the University of Warwick and worked as a publicist before turning to writing children's fiction. He is best known for the Vampirates series, six novels beginning with Demons of the Ocean (2005), a YA fantasy adventure blending pirates and vampire lore aboard a spectral ship at sea; the series continued through Tide of Terror, Blood Captain, Black Heart, Empire of Night, and Immortal War, with a further installment, Missing at Sea, following years later. He also wrote the two-book young-adult fantasy Allies & Assassins, beginning with A Conspiracy of Princes.
