Kacey Ezell (born 1977) is an American science fiction and fantasy author and former U.S. Air Force helicopter pilot from South Dakota. Raised on military bases as an Air Force family, she graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1999 and earned her pilot's wings in 2001, later logging more than 3,000 flight hours in UH-1N, Mi-17, and EC130 helicopters. She writes extensively within the shared Four Horsemen military science fiction universe, contributing to Four Horsemen Tales and related anthologies alongside her own series Ashes of Entecea and The Psyche of War, and has published short fiction spanning science fiction, alternate history, fantasy, horror, and noir. Ezell has said she first wanted to become a dragonrider after reading Anne McCaffrey's Dragondrums as a child, and pursued flying as the closest real-world equivalent. Her work has been translated into German, French, and Spanish.
