Karl K. Gallagher

Karl K. Gallagher is an American science fiction author and systems engineer whose career has included calculating trajectories for a commercial launch-rocket startup, operating satellites as a US Air Force officer, and selecting orbits for government and commercial satellite programs. That background informs his hard-SF Torchship series, following the crew of an independent trading ship navigating interstellar politics with technology grounded in real orbital mechanics, continuing through Torchship Captain and Torchship Pilot. He has also written The Fall of the Censor and The Lost War, military science fiction set in the same expanding universe. Gallagher self-publishes his fiction and lives in Minnesota with his family.
