Kate MacLeod

Kate MacLeod is an American author of science fiction and fantasy, publishing through her own imprint, Ratatoskr Press. She is best known for The Slums of the Solar System, a series of interlinked science-fiction stories set among the solar system's underclasses, and for the Ritchie and Fitz Sci-Fi Murder Mysteries, blending detective fiction with far-future settings. Her Travels of Scout Shannon series follows a wandering protagonist across planetary frontiers, and she has also written The Forgotten Planet and the Tales of the Chai Makhani Trio. MacLeod's short fiction has additionally appeared in professional genre magazines, and she publishes her novels, novellas, and collections in ebook, print, and audio formats across major retailers and library systems.
