Kathleen Duey

Kathleen Duey (1950-2020) was an American author of children's and young adult fiction across nine series and dozens of standalone titles. She is best known for Skin Hunger (2007), the first book of A Resurrection of Magic trilogy, a dark fantasy about the harsh, competing traditions used to train magicians in a world where magic had been lost; the novel was a finalist for both the National Book Award for Young People's Literature and a Cybils Award. Duey also wrote the historical Unicorn's Secret and Faeries' Promise series, the middle-grade Time Soldiers books, and numerous other series for younger readers across a career spanning several decades.
