Kathryn Purdie

Kathryn Purdie is an American author of young-adult fantasy, best known for the Burning Glass series (Burning Glass, Crystal Blade, Frozen Reign), which follows a girl who can sense and manipulate others' emotions, drawn into a dangerous imperial court as a result of her rare gift. She later wrote Bone Crier's Moon and its sequel Bone Crier's Dawn, a Beauty-and-the-Beast-inflected fantasy involving grief-summoned spirits, and more recently The Forest Grimm and The Deathly Grimm, a duology reimagining the Brothers Grimm's world. Purdie's fantasy is characterized by richly emotional, often morally ambiguous heroines and inventive twists on classic fairy-tale and gothic tropes.
