Kathryn Reiss

Kathryn Reiss is an American author of award-winning fiction for middle-grade and young-adult readers, born in Massachusetts on December 4, 1957, and raised in Ohio. She holds a bachelor's degree in English and German from Duke University and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Michigan, and began her first novel while in Bonn, Germany, as a Fulbright Scholar. Reiss writes suspense novels that frequently combine time travel and the supernatural, including several entries in the American Girl mystery series, along with Blackthorn Winter (2006) and Murder at Heatherstone Hall (2015), both mysteries set in England. Her body of work spans more than a dozen novels for young readers published over three decades.
