Kay Hooper

Kay Hooper is an American author of romantic suspense born in Atwater, California. Beginning her career in 1980 with the paranormal romance The Lady Thief, she has since published more than seventy novels, many collected under continuing series. She is best known for the Bishop/Special Crimes Unit sequence, a long-running set of interlinked trilogies, including the Fear, Blood, Shadows, Dark, and Haven Trilogies, that follow a team of psychically gifted FBI investigators tracking serial killers and supernatural threats. Her novel Stealing Shadows reached the New York Times bestseller list in 2000, and she received a Shamus Award nomination for House of Cards in 1992. Hooper lives in Rutherford County, North Carolina, where she is active in animal rescue work.
