Kel Kade

Kel Kade is a New York Times bestselling fantasy author based in Texas with an academic background in environmental science, including doctoral research on volcanic rock geochemistry and marine geology. Raised in a military family, she draws on a childhood of frequent travel and cross-cultural exposure in building the worlds of her fiction. She is best known for King's Dark Tidings, a fantasy series beginning with Free the Darkness (2015) that follows a young man swept from an ordinary life into a war against tyrannical rulers, and for its companion series, Shroud of Prophecy, beginning with Legends of Ahn. She has also launched the House of Midnight series, drawing on wide-ranging interests in ancient history, anthropology, and mythology.
