Kenneth Bulmer

Kenneth Bulmer (1921-2005) was a prolific British science fiction author who wrote more than 160 novels across a five-decade career. Much of his SF appeared under his own name, including standalone novels such as City Under the Sea (1957) and The Changeling Worlds (1959), but he also wrote his best-known planetary-romance sequence, the Dray Prescot series, as Alan Burt Akers, and used more than a dozen additional pseudonyms, including Adam Hardy and Tully Zetford, as well as house names shared with other writers. He edited nine volumes of the New Writings in Science Fiction anthology series in the 1970s and contributed comic scripts, helping create the British comic character The Steel Claw. Bulmer traveled to the United States as a TransAtlantic Fan Fund delegate in 1955, and his work found particular popularity in German translation.
