Kim McDougall

Kim McDougall is an author of dark paranormal action and romance. Her best-known work, the Valkyrie Bestiary series, follows a woman who tends magical creatures in a world where myth and reality intersect, and includes Dragons Don't Eat Meat, one of her most widely read titles; the series now runs to nine novels and five novellas. She also writes The Knack series, urban fantasy centered on a woman with an unusual magical talent, the Hidden Coven series, and the more recent Fair Folk of Mullarkey books. McDougall has said that if she could have one magical power, it would be to talk with animals, and her fiction reflects a recurring fascination with beasts, shapeshifters, and rescue creatures, alongside her real-life interests in fiber art and animal rescue.
