Kimberly Derting

Kimberly Derting is an American author born in 1968 in Seattle, Washington, known for young-adult fantasy and paranormal fiction. Her breakout series, The Body Finder, began with the novel of the same name in 2010 and follows a teenager who can sense the lingering echoes of murder victims and their killers; it continued through Desires of the Dead, The Last Echo, and Dead Silence. She also wrote The Pledge trilogy, beginning with The Pledge (2011), a dystopian series built around a kingdom where language itself is a matter of class and law, and The Taking, a science-fiction-tinged thriller about a girl who returns after a mysterious disappearance to find years have passed without her aging.
