Kirk Scroggs

Kirk Scroggs is an American author and illustrator of children's graphic novels and illustrated chapter books, based in Austin, Texas. His earlier work includes the illustrated series Wiley and Grampa's Creature Features and Tales of a Sixth-Grade Muppet, blending cartoon art with comic adventure for middle-grade readers. He later moved into full graphic novels with DC Comics' middle-grade imprint, writing and illustrating The Secret Spiral of Swamp Kid and We Found a Monster as part of the publisher's "Middle School Ghouls" line. Across formats, Scroggs favors goofy, monster-filled premises rendered in a loose, energetic cartooning style geared toward reluctant young readers.
