Kurt Schlichter

Kurt Schlichter is an American lawyer, retired U.S. Army infantry colonel, and conservative commentator who writes twice-weekly as a senior columnist for Townhall.com. Drawing on his military and legal background, he writes a series of dystopian political thrillers imagining a second American civil war and its aftermath, following mercenary-turned-power-broker Kelly Turnbull through People's Republic, Indian Country, Wildfire, Collapse, and The Split, with further entries continuing the saga. He has also published nonfiction political commentary, including Militant Normals and We'll Be Back: The Fall and Rise of America. Schlichter holds a graduate degree from the Army War College.
