Kyell Gold

Kyell Gold is an American author working in anthropomorphic, or 'furry,' fiction, one of the genre's most prominent and prolific writers. His Out of Position series, beginning with the title novel, follows a romance between two anthropomorphic college athletes and helped establish furry fiction as a venue for character-driven romantic and coming-of-age stories rather than purely comedic or erotic material. Gold's Argaea series, including the novel Volle, shifts into epic fantasy within a fully animal-peopled secondary world, while his League of Canids and New Tibet books extend his range into further anthropomorphic settings. A regular guest at furry conventions including Eurofurence and Furry Weekend Atlanta, Gold has built a body of work — spanning dozens of novels and short-story collections — considered foundational to modern furry literary fiction.
