L. D. Lapinski is a British author of children's fiction, born in Scotland in 1987. Lapinski is best known for the Strangeworlds Travel Agency series, beginning with The Strangeworlds Travel Agency, in which a girl discovers that battered suitcases in a shabby travel agency are portals to other worlds and joins a secret network of interworld couriers. The series continued through The Edge of the Ocean and The Secrets of the Stormforest, and a title in the sequence was selected for the UK's World Book Day programme. Lapinski has also written the Artezans series and, for the Doctor Who Icons range, Doctor Who: Charles Darwin and the Silurian Survival, extending a taste for portal fantasy and historical adventure into the Whoniverse.
