L. Jagi Lamplighter

L. Jagi Lamplighter is an American writer of fantasy for children and adults. A graduate of St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland, she is married to fellow novelist John C. Wright, with whom she raises four children. Lamplighter is best known for the Books of Unexpected Enlightenment series, following teenage sorceress Rachel Griffin through Roanoke Academy for the Sorcerous Arts, and for the Prospero's Daughter trilogy, which sends Miranda -- daughter of Shakespeare's Prospero -- into a Dante-inspired underworld to rescue her father. She also co-edits the Bad-Ass Faeries anthology series and, more recently, the Fantastic Schools anthologies, and has published short fantasy fiction across other shared-world anthologies. Publishers Weekly gave her novels starred reviews, praising their blend of mythology, theology, and Shakespearean allusion.
