Laura Anne Gilman

Laura Anne Gilman is an American fantasy author born in 1967 in New Jersey. Much of her work is set in the Cosa Nostradamus urban-fantasy universe, including the Retrievers series, beginning with Staying Dead (2004), and the Paranormal Scene Investigations books, starting with Hard Magic (2010); Flesh and Fire (2009), part of her Vineart War trilogy, was a Nebula Award finalist. Her western-flavored fantasy series The Devil's West began with Silver on the Road (2015), and her novel The Cold Eye won the Endeavour Award in 2017. Gilman has also written media tie-in fiction for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Quantum Leap, and publishes under the pen names L. A. Kornetsky and Anna Leonard. She began her professional writing career in 1994 and now runs an editorial services company near Seattle.
