Laura Benedict

Laura Benedict (born 1962) is an American novelist of Southern Gothic suspense and horror, born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is known for the Bliss House trilogy - Bliss House, Charlotte's Story, and The Abandoned Heart - centered on a haunted Virginia mansion across generations, as well as the earlier standalone novel Isabella Moon. With her husband, novelist Pinckney Benedict, she co-edited the Surreal South anthology series of Southern fiction, including Surreal South '11. Benedict is also active in short crime and horror fiction, publishing stories in anthologies alongside writers such as J. T. Ellison.
