Laura Lam is an American-Scottish novelist working across space opera, fantasy, and young-adult fiction, now publishing some titles as L.R. Lam. Born in California, she later settled in Scotland, where she taught creative writing at Edinburgh Napier University for several years. She debuted with the Micah Grey trilogy (Pantomime, Shadowplay, Masquerade), a circus-set fantasy exploring gender and identity, before moving into science fiction with the Pacifica duology (False Hearts, Shattered Minds) and the space-opera Seven Devils duology, co-written with Elizabeth May. Her recent Dragon Scales series (Dragonfall, Emberclaw) blends dragons with found-family fantasy and was longlisted for the British Science Fiction Award. A USA Today and Sunday Times bestseller, Lam won a Bisexual Book Award for Shattered Minds and continues to write across genres from her home in Scotland.
