Leanna Renee Hieber

Leanna Renee Hieber (born 1970 in Ohio) is an American author of Gothic and paranormal historical fiction, alongside a career as a stage actress and playwright. She is best known for the Strangely Beautiful series, beginning with The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker, a Gothic occult saga set in Victorian London whose heroine, an albino orphan with a gift for languages, has been noted as a rare sympathetic portrayal of albinism in genre fiction. She continued the same historical-occult vein with The Eterna Files trilogy, following psychics and spies through an alternate 1880s New York and London, and the Spectral City series, centered on a female medium working with the NYPD in Gilded Age New York. Hieber's nonfiction essay collection America's Most Gothic was a finalist for the Bram Stoker Award for Best Nonfiction.
