Lehua Parker

Lehua Parker is a Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) author and a graduate of Kamehameha Schools, now living in the Rocky Mountains while remaining closely tied to her native Hawai'i. She writes speculative fiction for children and adults set in and around Hawaiian culture and folklore, and is an advocate for authentic indigenous representation in media. She is best known for the Niuhi Shark Saga, a coming-of-age trilogy that includes the bestselling One Boy, No Water, and for the Lauele Fractured Folktales, which reimagine Hawaiian stories with a speculative twist, alongside the short-fiction collection Chicken Skin Stories. Her short fiction has appeared in journals including Bamboo Ridge and Va: Stories by Women of the Moana, and she also works as a freelance editor and writing mentor through the Lehua Writing Academy.
