Liane Merciel

Liane Merciel is an American fantasy author of Korean and European descent who grew up in Germany, South Korea, and other locations as part of a military family, and now practices law in Pennsylvania after earning degrees from Yale and William & Mary Law School. She is the creator of the Ithelas fantasy series, beginning with The River Kings' Road and continuing through Heaven's Needle, a dark epic fantasy centered on war, faith, and the costs of vengeance. Merciel has also written extensively in licensed game-tie-in fiction, contributing several novels to Paizo's Pathfinder Tales line, including Nightglass and Nightblade, and to Games Workshop's Age of Sigmar setting with Blacktalon and Godsrain. Her work moves fluidly between original dark fantasy and media-tie-in novels for tabletop role-playing settings.
