Lindsay Buroker is an American author of fantasy and science fiction, born in 1977 near Seattle, Washington. Before writing full time she worked as a lifeguard, fast-food employee, network administrator, and U.S. Army soldier, and spent years blogging and doing affiliate marketing before self-publishing her fourth novel on Kindle in 2011. She is best known for The Emperor's Edge, a long-running steampunk-flavored fantasy series following the assassin Sicarius and former enforcer Amaranthe Lokdon, and for the space-opera series Fallen Empire and its Star Nomad novels, the urban fantasy Death Before Dragons, and the dragon-focused fantasy Dragon Blood. Buroker has published more than sixty novels and continues to blog regularly about the craft and business of independent publishing.
