Louise Cooper (1952-2009) was a British writer of fantasy and supernatural fiction, born in Barnet, Hertfordshire. She published her first novel at twenty, worked in London publishing from 1975, and became a full-time writer in 1977, going on to produce more than eighty novels for both adult and young adult readers. She is best remembered for the Time Master trilogy (The Initiate, The Outcast, The Master) and its Daughter of Storms follow-up, and for the eight-book Indigo series, alongside later work such as the Sea Horses quartet. She lived in Cornwall, drawing on its coastal landscape and folklore, and died of a brain haemorrhage in 2009.
