Lucy A. Snyder

Lucy A. Snyder (born 1971) is an American writer of science fiction, fantasy, horror, and humor, and an editor and writing mentor since 2010. Her fiction ranges from the urban-fantasy Spellbent series, following a magic-using couple through occult intrigue in Spellbent, Shotgun Sorceress, and Switchblade Goddess, to the horror-focused Sister, Maiden, Monster (2023) and short-fiction collections such as Sparks and Shadows and Chimeric Machines. She has won multiple Bram Stoker Awards, including for the poetry collection Chimeric Machines and for the fiction collection While the Black Stars Burn, along with recognition for the short story "Magdala Amygdala." Snyder has published more than eighty short stories across magazines and anthologies and continues to write across genres while teaching in MFA programs.
