Lynn Abbey

Lynn Abbey (born 1948) is an American fantasy author and editor from Peekskill, New York, who studied astrophysics before earning degrees in European history and working in computer programming. She debuted with Daughter of the Bright Moon (1979) and became a defining voice of the shared-world Thieves' World anthology series, contributing stories from its first volume and eventually taking over as its editor from her then-husband Robert Asprin, whom she married in 1982 and divorced in 1993; she later wrote the series' novel-length revival, Sanctuary (2002). Abbey also wrote extensively in TSR's Dark Sun setting, including The Brazen Gambit and Cinnabar Shadows, and contributed to the Blood of Ten Chiefs sword-and-sorcery anthologies. She has lived in Leesburg, Florida since 1997 and remains active in fantasy and gaming circles.
