Lynn S. Hightower

Lynn S. Hightower is an American author of crime and science fiction novels, born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1956. She writes contemporary crime fiction in the Sonora Blair mystery sequence, beginning with Eyeshot, alongside a parallel career in science fiction with the David Silver series, comprising Alien Blues, Alien Eyes, Alien Heat, and Alien Rites - police procedurals in which human detective David Silver partners with an alien Elaki sidekick, closely mirroring the plotting and tone of Hightower's non-fantastic crime novels. She has continued writing crime-inflected speculative fiction with The Enlightenment Project and its sequel The Hunting Dark. Hightower's work is distinguished by carrying the structure and voice of the police procedural across both mundane and science-fictional settings.
