Lynne Jonell

Lynne Jonell is an American author of children's fiction who lives in Plymouth, Minnesota. She is best known for the Emmy series — Emmy and the Incredible Shrinking Rat, Emmy and the Rats in the Belfry, and Emmy and the Home for Troubled Girls — about a girl accidentally shrunk by a magic hamster ball and drawn into a world of talking rodents and boarding-school intrigue. Her novel The Secret of Zoom was named a School Library Journal Best Book of 2009 and drew wider attention when it was purchased as a gift by President Barack Obama for his daughter in 2010. Jonell's other works include The Sign of the Cat and the time-travel adventure Time Sight, alongside a series of magic-themed chapter books collected as The Willow Family.
