M. J. Scott

M. J. Scott is an Australian fantasy and urban fantasy writer based in Melbourne, Victoria, born in 1971. Raised on Tolkien, L. M. Montgomery, and Terry Pratchett alongside Austen and Heyer, she blends adventure with romance in stories about women finding their powers, their paths, and their people. She is best known for the Half-Light City urban fantasy series (Blood Kin, Iron Kin, Fire Kin, Shadow Kin) and the Four Arts fantasy series, which opens with The Shattered Court, as well as the contemporary-set TechWitch and Wild Side books. Scott also writes under two other pen names: Melanie Scott, for sports romance, and Emma Douglas, for small-town contemporary romance.
