Madeleine E. Robins

Madeleine E. Robins is an American author born in New York City on December 7, 1953. She began her career in science fiction, debuting with the story "The Boarder" in Asimov's Science Fiction in 1982, and later wrote media tie-in fiction including a Daredevil novel and entries in the Marvel Universe and X-Men lines. She is best known for the Sarah Tolerance series, beginning with Point of Honour and continuing through Petty Treason, following a disgraced gentlewoman turned private inquiry agent in an alternate-history Regency London where women's roles are more rigidly, and dangerously, policed. Her other fiction includes the disaster novel The Stone War, set amid Manhattan's collapse, and the Tor.com novella Sold for Endless Rue. Her work blends historical detail with speculative premises across genres.
