Mai Corland

Mai Corland is a fantasy author whose debut novel, Five Broken Blades (2024), launched The Broken Blades series, a Korean-inspired epic following a group of assassins each planning to betray the crown prince they have been hired to protect. The book drew notice on the awards circuit, earning a finalist nod for the Libby Book Award and an Audie Award nomination for its multi-cast audiobook narration. Corland continued the series with Three Shattered Souls and Four Ruined Realms, expanding the political intrigue and interlocking betrayals among her assassin protagonists. Her fiction is known for alternating first-person perspectives and morally ambiguous characters operating within a richly imagined East-Asian-influenced fantasy kingdom.
