Majanka Verstraete

Majanka Verstraete is an author of young adult and new adult speculative fiction who studied law and criminology and works as a legal counsel alongside her writing. She published her first novel at twenty and has since built several series, including the Angel of Death books, following a young half-angel-of-death protagonist, and The Adventures of Marisol Holmes, which reimagines the descendants of Sherlock Holmes with a shapeshifting princess heroine in novels such as A Study in Shifters and The Wolf of the Baskervilles. Her other work spans ghost stories, including Ghost Slayer, and the boarding-school fantasy of Allegro Academy. Verstraete has said the fastest book she ever wrote, The Soul Thief, came together in only a few days, while later entries in her longer series required much more extensive plotting.
