Mara Rutherford

Mara Rutherford is an American-born author of young adult fantasy who lives in Rome, Italy, with her diplomat husband and two sons. She began her career as a journalist before turning to fiction, drawn to fantasy as an escape from everyday life. Her novels include the Crown of Coral and Pearl duology, Kingdom of Sea and Stone, Luminous, The Poison Season, and A Multitude of Dreams, along with the lighter A Curious Kind of Magic.
