Marc Miller is an American game designer and author best known for creating the Traveller science-fiction role-playing game, first published in 1977 through Game Designers' Workshop, the company he co-founded with Rich Banner, Frank Chadwick, and Loren Wiseman in 1973. Over nearly two decades at GDW he designed dozens of war and science-fiction games, including Imperium and the board game Double Star, and co-designed MegaTraveller and 2300 AD. After leaving GDW in 1991, he bought back the rights to Traveller and founded Far Future Enterprises to continue developing the game and its Third Imperium setting. Miller later turned to fiction set in that universe, publishing the novel Agent of the Imperium, a Dragon Award nominee. He has received the Origins Award and was inducted into the Charles S. Roberts Hall of Fame.
