Margaret Owen

Margaret Owen is an American author of young-adult fantasy born in 1986. She is best known for The Merciful Crow duology, beginning with The Merciful Crow (2019), a story of a caste-divided kingdom told through the eyes of a low-caste death-rite performer, and for the Little Thieves duology, opening with Little Thieves (2021), a fairy-tale-inspired fantasy about a con artist cursed after stealing from a goddess, which continues through Painted Devils and Holy Terrors. Her fiction blends fairy-tale and folkloric structure with morally complex protagonists and dark humor, and she has also contributed licensed fiction to Disney's Tangled franchise.
