Maria Lima

Maria Lima is an American author of urban fantasy, born in 1958 in Matanzas, Cuba. She is best known for the Blood Lines series, which opens with Matters of the Blood and follows Keira Kelly, a bar owner in a small Texas town who is drawn into a world of vampires and hidden supernatural politics after her sister's murder. The series continues through Blood Kin, Blood Heat, Blood Bargain, and Blood Sacrifice, tracing Keira's growing involvement with the vampire community around her and the choices that come with it. Lima's fiction sits within the small-town paranormal mystery tradition, pairing a light, conversational narrative voice with vampire-society world-building. She has also contributed short fiction to genre anthologies alongside her novel-length work.
