Marie Vibbert

Marie Vibbert is an American science fiction and fantasy writer, born in 1974 and based in Cleveland, Ohio, where she works as a computer programmer and organizes the Cleveland Game Developers group. Raised in the rust belt by a single father who worked as a laborer, she writes what she calls class-conscious science fiction, and has published over a hundred short stories in venues including Analog, Clarkesworld, and Nature. Her debut novel, Galactic Hellcats (2021), a space-opera adventure, was longlisted for the British Science Fiction Award; she continued the series with Andrei and the Hellcats (2025). A Hugo and Nebula Award finalist and multiple-time Rhysling Award nominee, she is a member of SFWA and the Science Fiction Poetry Association, and completed the Clarion writing workshop in 2013.
