Marissa Doyle

Marissa Doyle is an American author born in 1963 and raised in Massachusetts, where she still lives near Cape Cod. She majored in history and archaeology at Bryn Mawr College, a background that informs her historical fantasy fiction. Doyle is best known for her young-adult Leland Sisters series, opening with Bewitching Season and Betraying Season, which follows Regency-era sisters who are also practicing witches, and continuing through later entries including Evergreen and What Lies Beneath. She also writes adult historical fantasy as The Ladies of Almack's, including By Jove and Skin Deep. Doyle favors richly researched historical settings drawn from her love of archaeology and material culture, and outside writing she sews, quilts, gardens, and champions house rabbits as pets.
