Mark Alpert

Mark Alpert (born 1961) is an American writer and journalist, and a longtime contributing editor at Scientific American. He published his debut novel, the techno-thriller Final Theory, in 2008, and went on to write further adult thrillers built around cutting-edge physics and technology. He is also known for The Six, a young-adult science-fiction series that follows teenagers whose minds are uploaded into robotic bodies to fight a rogue artificial intelligence, continued in The Siege and The Silence. Alpert has drawn on his scientific background throughout his fiction, and has separately written for Scientific American on subjects such as particle-physics research.
