Mark Henwick is a Zambian-born English author who began writing fiction in 2012. He is best known for Bite Back, an urban fantasy series following Amber Farrell, a former special-forces soldier drawn into the hidden world of the Athanate, a vampire-like society bound by rules of blood and rank. Henwick expanded the setting across further series and collections, including Bite Back: Outsiders, Bian's Tale, and Among the Stars, building a densely worked mythology around the Athanate's internal politics and Farrell's uneasy place within it. He has continued adding to the series over more than a decade, with titles such as Snake Eyes and The Dark Takes Fools extending Farrell's story into recent years. He is the father of actress Jessica Henwick.
