Mark Kreighbaum is an American science-fiction author best known for Palace (1996), a novel co-written with veteran fantasy novelist Katharine Kerr as part of her "Pinch" sequence. He continued the story alone with The Eyes of God (1998), a direct sequel, and Mirror in Time (1998), extending the series' blend of interstellar politics and psychic phenomena aboard a vast generational habitat. Kreighbaum's work reflects the 1990s wave of collaborative genre fiction, in which a newer writer developed a shared series alongside an established fantasy name before branching out into solo novels published under his own byline.
