Mary E. Lowd is an American science-fiction and furry-fiction author based in Oregon who has published more than two hundred short stories and a dozen novels. She founded and edits the furry e-zine Zooscape, has edited five volumes of the ROAR anthology series, and chaired the Coyotl Awards for eight years. Her fiction centers on animal characters in science-fiction settings, most notably the Otters in Space series and the interconnected Wespirtech universe, which includes Welcome to Wespirtech, Crossroads Station, and Maradia's Robot Emporium, alongside the Tri-Galactic Trek books. Lowd has received four Ursa Major Awards and four Coyotl Awards, along with more Ursa Major nominations than any other individual, and served as a Guest of Honor at Furvana and Midwest FurFest in 2019.
